The Village Treasurer is a part-time elected non-voting member of the Executive Board.

Key Duties
Elected Executive Board Member: Serves a two-year term following election at the regular spring election in even-numbered years. As a non-voting member, this role helps oversee village governance and ensure village ordinances are faithfully enforced.
Financial Receipts & Custody: Receiving all funds belonging, accruing, or legally directed to the Village, and depositing them promptly into designated public depositories.
Disbursements & Claims: Disbursing funds only upon written order signed by the Village President and countersigned by the Village Clerk.
Accounting & Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed accounts of all financial receipts and transactions, preserving payment vouchers, and keeping general accounts within a single treasury fund unless otherwise specified.
Reporting & Settlement: Rendering formal financial accounts and settlements to the Village Board at its final meeting prior to annual elections, as well as upon board request.
Tax Collection & Administration: Managing municipal property tax collection, exercising tax collection powers equivalent to town treasurers, assisting with tax roll preparation, and administering tax-related credits (such as the Lottery & Gaming Credit) and dog licensing processes.
Transition & Compliance: Delivering all financial records, books, and public funds to the qualified successor upon leaving office, and fulfilling all other statutory or board-directed obligations.
